Sunday, October 14, 2007

Our members are diversified in beliefs, experiences and backgrounds. The group is open to all homeschoolers to join us in the community of homelearning.

My goal for this blog site is to create a community where ideas and information can be shared. Where each one of us respects and listens to other ideas and not be judged.

Field Trips: Please share with us any upcoming field trips homeschoolers dates or information about field trips you would like to recommend.

Web Sites: Share with us any sites that are your favorites.

Books: Do you have a book that you absolutely couldn't put down and your children asked you to read one more chapter...

Eye Openers: Have your children pointed out something to you and you never thought to look at it that way before.

Travels: Have you visited any places with your children and found out anything interesting?

Books
One of my favorite books to read out loud is Story of the World by Susan Bauer. My son keeps on telling me to read one more chapter and we can never complete the activity sheets that corespond to the chapter.

Eye Openers

(We are an non smoking family.) My daughter asks me why do people smoke? How much does it cost to smoke. That 15 min car ride turned into a math game. Now why can't she fill in the blanks in her math book?

Travels
Fort George in Ontario was one of our favorite historical location to go to especially if your children like the period of 1812. Try and get Peter as your guide for the red coat.

Documentaries
The Peoples History brings Canadian History to Life. Enjoy
